Yesterday was a bit challenging. Will was fussy most of the day. It turns out that we may have been given the wrong scoop for measuring and mixing his formula....thus the concentration was too weak, and he was not satisfied. We have now transitioned him over to Enfamil, so he has been an angel today. He is such a sweet little boy. He is actually letting us snuggle him today...what a comfort to a mother's heart....and his Daddy is eating it up too.
He had is mandatory medical exam today. He did well....he weighs 17.1lbs and is 27 inches long. After completing some paperwork in preparation for our consulate appointment, we decided to be adventurous and take a cab....to pizza hut. Abby practically begged us to go...I think she has had her fill of Chinese food. So..off we went...Will's first cab ride.
Understand, in China apparently there are no child restraint laws... therefore, no car seats. Let's just say, I closed my eyes and held tightly to Will, and prayed for our safety! That was quite an adventure. It took about fifteen minutes to communicate that we wanted pepperoni pizza...but Abby says it was worth every bite!
Abby is doing well...she misses her friends and little brother. Please pray for her as she continues to understand that bonding process with her new little brother...she loves him so much and can't wait for him to be strong enough for them to play more. Tomorrow is the first day without an appointment. We plan to just spend time together and prepare for the home stretch.
Thank you so much for your prayers. Also, Sheri is emailing us the comments you leave on the blog. What a blessing it has been to hear from our friends and family. Please keep them coming...we look forward to reading them.
Kai...we all love and miss you sooooo much. WE know that you are being a big boy - get ready to be a big brother...you and Will are going to have great fun together. Hugs and Kisses!
Today, at lunch as I was playing with Will, it finally hit me that I knew beyond a shadow of a doubt that Will was and is the precious one that God moved mountains and crossed oceans to unite us with. After just three days I cannot imagine our lives without him!
What a sweet one he is. He is the one God has had all along. Isn't it such a blessing to witness our GREAT GOD at work. We look forward to loving & spoiling him.
ReplyDeleteLove the picture of Will and Abby! They both look very happy. Will is the special blessing you all were waiting for. Many thoughts and prayers.

Love the new pictures...what a doll baby! Oh I know you can't keep your hands off of him. Isn't it beautiful when you realize that he's the one...the very one God designed for your family before the foundation of the world. I know the wait was long, but one look at your son and that all melts away. Much like the pains of childbirth, the pains of an adoption melt away in an instant. It was worth it...just look into those beautiful almond eyes and you just know! Am I right? Love you guys and can't wait to see you! Kiss those sweet baby cheeks for me, ok!

Dear Ones, We hope today was a good and pleasant day enjoying China with two of your three children. That story about Abbs being in the mood for pizza was a story to write in will’s baby book. Right on, girl. We miss you, Abby. Will you come for a night or two before school begins? We are way behind on movies and shopping!! Of course, you might be tired of going into shops before you arrive back in the USA. It sounds as if Will had a good check-up. Was blood drawn? I guess when you get Will home you can experiment with different foods. He will pick up weight quickly being switched to Enfamil. It seems to us that you are all doing everything just right. He will get the hang of hugs and sugars. The photos are precious----I loved the one of Abby and Will on the pillow. He looks calm and not afraid at all. I would say that he is doing as well as most babies. Getting him home will give him even more security-----Kai will cluck over him like a mother hen! Everyday we look forward to a new message and new photos. Have a wonderful time and see as much as possible. We miss you. Love you lots, Poppy and Nona
ReplyDeleteWe have a surprise for Y'ALL---we've just sent pictures of M.J. (and us and Mom & Dad) to your e-mail. We all had supper today & ate some Tony's pizza for you (tell Abby we ate some for her, too and that great minds think alike, as we saw y'all had pizza, as well). :) We love y'all!
