Yesterday, we went to the Chinese Folk Art Museum. It was beautiful...but way too hot! When we were told that the group was going to a museum, I automatically assumed that it would be indoors...no...it was an open air museum...and very hot. Tonight we went as a group on a dinner cruise. The cruise part was beautiful - seeing the lights of Guangzhou by night was stunning...the dinner part...not so appetizing. Our guide just happened to be in line in front of me and told me what each dish was. It went a little something like this...chicken heads, chicken feet, snail over noodles, pig livers, fish heads....needless to say, Abby requested McDonald's when we returned to the hotel.
We are waiting for our Consulate appointment...which is on Wednesday. After that, we will attend the oath taking ceremony, pick up Will's passport/visa, and be able to leave the country on Friday evening. We will travel by bus to Hong Kong, where we will depart on Sunday. This has been an amazing journey.
Today, Jay and I celebrated our 19th anniversary. We talked briefly this afternoon...in the quiet...we agreed that we would never have believed it, if nineteen years ago we had been told we would be in China...adopting our precious boy. When I stop to think how the Lord has worked his will out in our lives...I am completely amazed. We can't wait to return home and share our experience with you all. We have met some wonderful families and precious children. Thank you for you prayers and encouragement along the way.
Wow, What an anniversary to remember!!
ReplyDeleteLove, Miss and Praying for ya'll!

Wow...happy anniversary! A pretty amazing way to celebrate 19 years of marriage. So thrilled little Will is doing well. Hope he gets well soon...probably making for a very tired Mommy and Daddy! Oh can't wait to see all of your pictures and hear the many stories! Love you guys and see you soon.

Happy Anniversary!! And I agree--what a way to celebrate (Scotty and I had a baby for our 5th and 10th annv. I refused for the 15th. Ha!) But I'm so excited for all of you. Can't wait to see you. Tell Will he has to be better by the time y'all return so we can all pass him around (we'll be praying for his eating/sleeping habits. He already looks like a LA native with his shorts and bare feet. Wonder how long it will take before he's screaming for the AC like the rest of us. Have a save flight home!
ReplyDeleteHey guys, Did I see bare feet on that baby? Uh oh, you might get in trouble! That's such a sweet shot of him and his little girl buddy sleeping in their strollers.
ReplyDeleteOur guide was "smarter" than yours. Everytime we asked "what is that?" at meal time, the answer was always "is GOOD! You EAT!" Every single time. No telling what I ate... Some of it was reeeaaalllyyy chewy, too...... Like rubber, or octopus????????? Go Pizza Hut!
What a great anniversary memory for you. I bet it beats all your other years.
I'm praying for Will to feel better and get over his stuffiness, poor little fellow. Hope you are all doing okay. We can't wait to see your family all together and to hear about Kai and Will getting to know one another. Too precious.
love you all, Janise and the gang
